All Subura Renter Rules apply to those who rent in the Menander.

Insulae were Roman apartment buildings. An apartment was called a conclave. The Insula of the Maneander was a famous insula in the ancient Roman city of Pompeii, named after a painting of the Roman playwright inside.

The Insula of the Menander in the ROMA Subura sim is designed to be a small furnished home for some citizens. It allows the residents to become part of the Subura community, as well as have a communal living experience with other residents.

Here are the particulars about Menander living:

* Menander residents can only rent one conclave/comitatus.

* They will be added to the Subura Residents Group by the Prefect or the Tribune.

* The door will only open for the main renter andy anyone they add to the access list.

* Only the main renter will be added to the Subura group for rezzing purposes. This is because of the way prims have to be counted. Partners and friends can not be given rezzing rights.

* The conclave will be furnished and decorated. This includes double bed (with 2 laying animations), sitting bench, table, clay lamp with local light and particle flame, groin vaulted decorated ceiling, wall paintings, and large window with a view.

* The Insula also has a garden area (with bench and water feature) and an open air roof porch with conversation area. The Menander residents will be albe to socialize in these areas, and invite guests.

* There are several different decor designs available. You may choose any of the available ones, or provide the Prefect with a finished wall texture of your own (mod/copy/trans). Furniture colors can be changed but not furniture items. You're basically renting the conclave "furnished".

* You will only be able to rez up to 10 prims in your Conclave (or 20 in the Comitatus). Mainly this is envisioned to be for poseballs. Menander living is not comparable to a 1024sq. m. Subura plot where you make your own house. The conclave will be a base for you to live, entertain, and hang. Abusing the prim rule is grounds for expulsion. No temp-rezzers.

* Menander residents will share a single plot radio where each resident will be able to switch between several media channels. Music url's can be added to the playlist by sending them to the Tribune or the Prefect on a notecard.

* All codes of conduct in effect in the Subura and in ROMA must be followed by all Menander residents. (This code can be found on the land window under the 'Covenant' tab) or here.

* Menander residents are not voting residents for the purposes of Comitia proposals, but they may attend Comitia meetings.

* Price will be $1 US per week. Each resident will pay rent into a specific rental box in the Insula lobby. All fees are non-refundable. There is a 3 day grace period on non-payment before you will be removed. You do not need to pay any tier payments to Linden Labs or be a premium member to rent in the ROMA Subura. This is a financial agreement between you and Torin Golding.

* Renters must remain in good standing in the SL and ROMA Community. No scamming, newbie fishing, slander, boundary encroachment, harrassment, hate speak, greifing, or dishonest activity will be tolerated. A warning will be issued first, followed up by eviction if things do not change.
