All ROMA 12 Tables apply to those who rent in the markets.
These market rules apply to renters in the Trajan's Market complex and the Macellum.
By order of the Emperor, Julian Augustus, these are the rules by which all market sellers must abide. Transgression may result in termination of rental agreement without refund. Payment of the rental box represents willful compliance with these rules.
The following are NOT allowed in the Market:
1. Light scripts: Use "full bright" instead.
2. Particle scripts
3. Holo scripts or vendors (see below for allowed vendor types)
4. Self-cycling scripts or vendors: This means that you can not use a vendor item that cycles through textures, sounds, item names or holo displays of items "automatically" (the customers *MUST* use arrow buttons).
5. Shouting vendors. In fact, the Emperor prefers that your vendors WHISPER, particularly since other attractions are nearby the markets. He will be very grateful. No text spam (automatic talking) allowed either.
6. More than your allotted number of prims. If you go over, all of your prims may be returned.
7. Anything that upsets the theme of the Market (see "Market Theme" below).
8. Anything that extends beyond the boundaries of the rental space. Items that do so will be deleted.
9. Visitor counters, online indicators, and other auto-updating objects. Please keep any rotating or moving (ie. swinging) objects to a minimum.
10. Automatic sounds. Sounds that a customer has to click a prim to hear (such as gesture samples) are allowed.
The reason for all of these prohibitions is to keep lag down here in ROMA. We wish to keep this estate enjoyable for all visitors. Customers will not come to a laggy area. We will routinely use the Estate Tools to check up on scripts, and we will not tolerate laggy scripts.
Allowed Vendors
Only NO LAG vendors are allowed. If you are uncertain as to what type vendor you have or if it is NO LAG, please contact the Emperor. No listening scripts are allowed in display items!
Renting a Stall
There are several levels for rentals. You do not need to be a resident of the Subura to rent a stall in the Macellum market.
Purple: L$600 per week for 100 prims
Red: L$300 per week for 50 prims
White: L$200 per week for 30 prims
Green: L$100 per week for 15 prims
Blue signs are $50/week for a single vendor (single vendor no more than 5 prims; no other prims allowed).
First pay the rental sign the desired amount. Second, IM Alekso Minotaur or Torin Golding to be added to the Roman Market Merchants group. The Roman Market Merchants group MUST be activated when you lay out your merchandise, or it will be automatically returned.
We expect you to be fair and honest with your customers, and we will follow up on excessive customer complaints. No freebie selling as your own items.
Renewing your rent must be done on time. There will be a 48 hour grace period before your items are returned to clear the stall for a new renter.
SPECIAL RULE REGARDING SECOND-HAND ITEMS: We are concened that it may not be clear that second-hand items are being sold as second-hand items, particularly when they are packaged in boxes owned by the second-hand owner and not the original creator. Therefore merchants may *NOT* sell second hand items in their shop. We will hold Citizen Flea Markets / Yard Sales in the ROMA Fort from time to time where any Citizen can put out second-hand items for sale. Please join the ROMA Flea Market group to be kept informed of such developments.
Market Theme
This is an ancient Roman themed estate. We would like your stall to compliment that theme. This does NOT mean that your merchandise needs to be ancient in theme. It can be anything you sell. However, we would prefer that you design your stall so that it fits in with the general theme of the ROMA sim. Please contact thr Estate Manager in charge of Markets, Alekso Minotaur, if you would like some ideas.
If you have ANY questions what-so-ever, please contact the Estate Manager in charge of Markets, Alekso Minotaur, BEFORE you rent the stall. |
